Ravenswood
Ravenswood Early Learning Centre is co-located with the Ravenswood Child and Family Centre and is a short walk from Ravenswood Heights Primary.
Ravenswood Early Learning Centre has strong connections with the local community and provides opportunities for children to grow and learn in an environment that supports their sense of belonging. Our service links with the Child and Family Centre, participating regularly in ECIS, Little Talker and Tiny Talker playgroups.
Ravenswood Outside School Hours Care, including Before School, After School and Vacation Care, also operates from the centre. Delivery and collection arrangements are available from other primary schools in the local area.

Meals
The service employs an experienced cook to prepare nutritional meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Seasonal rotating menus are designed to take into account children’s likes and dislikes, special dietary requirements and the Australian Dietary and Infant Feeding Guidelines.
Ravenswood Early Learning Centre is a Move Well Eat Well accredited service.
Transport
Ravenswood Early Learning Centre and Outside School Hours Care has a dedicated service bus that enables a daily home and school pick up and drop off service. The service is also available for children from other local primary schools in area. If you require assistance with transport, please speak with the Director.
Discovery Early Learning Centres is accredited with the Tasmanian Department of Transportation as a public passenger vehicle service.

RECONCILIATION
We believe strongly in reconciliation and inclusion and work with Tasmanian Aboriginal Elders Aunty Judith-Rose and Aunty Nannette to support a community rich in culture and diversity. With the Elders guidance children build on their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, community and history.
BOOK BUDDIES
We have a strong connection with Ravenswood Heights Primary School and have weekly visits from classrooms for Book Buddies. This program helps the children in our service to develop relationships with children attending the school while encouraging a love of reading and promoting early literacy skills.
Excursions
Our service bus enables regular opportunities to go on excursions and strengthen links with the local community. These excursions expose children to a range of different experiences and enable them to further connect with their community. Children also have the opportunity to enjoy regular walking excursions to a variety of locations. During Vacation Care, the bus is used to allow school age children to participate in a range of experiences outside of the service and local community.

DirectorSharon Langley
Sharon has a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and has worked in the sector for 20 years, working in a variety of roles including educator, educational leader and now Director. These roles have given Sharon the opportunity to build relationships with many children and their families. Sharon joined the sector because she understands the importance of early childhood development and learning and is passionate about making a difference.

Georgia began her career with Discovery in 2017 as a student. Her wealth of knowledge and continuous improvement have made her a key member of the Ravenswood team as she has supported children, the families and her colleagues in her role as Room Leader, Education Leader and now as Assistant Director.
