Discovery's newest, state-of-the-art, early learning centre which opened in June 2022.
Discovery Early Learning Centres is a Tasmanian family owned and operated organisation with extensive experience in providing high quality education and care programs for children across Tasmania. Our services are located in the surrounding suburbs of Hobart, Launceston, Ulverstone and Burnie.
We offer Long Day Care, Preschool programs and Outside School Hours Care including, Before School, After School and Vacation Care. We understand every family has different needs and, with this in mind, we offer care on a full time or part time basis. Occasional care and casual care is available where a vacancy exists.
We are dedicated to providing high quality early education programs for children in a safe, secure, challenging and nurturing environment that is rich, flexible and encourages learning, curiosity, creativity and exploration.
Meals
The service will employ an experienced cook or qualified chef to prepare nutritional meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Seasonal rotating menus will be designed to take into account children’s likes and dislikes, special dietary requirements and the Australian Dietary and Infant Feeding Guidelines.
All Discovery Early Learning Centres work towards being Move Well Eat Well accredited services.
Transport
Sorell Early Learning Centre and Outside School Hours Care has a dedicated bus that enables a school pick up and drop off service. The service is available for children from all local primary schools in area. If you require assistance with transport, please speak with the Director.
Discovery Early Learning Centres is accredited with the Tasmanian Department of Transportation as a public passenger vehicle service
Excursions
The Discovery bus will enable regular opportunities to go on excursions and strengthen links with the local community. These excursions expose children to a range of different experiences and enable them to further connect with their community. Children will also have the opportunity to enjoy regular walking excursions to a variety of locations.
During Vacation Care, school age children will participate in a range of excursions within the local community and the greater Hobart area.

Co-DirectorBek Hill
Bek started with Discovery in 2012 in Ulverstone, taking on the various roles and positions before accepting the role of Co-Director at the Sorell service. Bek's vision is to ensure that children are safe and supported in an environment that is enriched with risky nature play and promotes children's rights and social justice. Outside of work Bek enjoys spending quality time with family and adventuring with her husband and three gorgeous children.

Co-DirectorKellie Bruce
Kellie began her career in Early Education and Care at the age of 16, she has had many roles and positions during this time. Kellie has been a Director with Discovery since 2016. Kellie finds working with children, their families and the community very rewarding. Kellie has three beautiful children, being a mother is one of her favourite life accomplishments. Kellie is an enthusiastic camper often spending time exploring our beautiful state.
