Green Point Early Learning Centre is now opened. The service has taken over from our Gunn Street centre, located in Bridgewater.
Our new centre has strong connections with the local community and providing opportunities for children to grow and learn in an environment that supports their sense of belonging. Our service continues to be involved in many community programs, supporting our families to access services available to them and encouraging connection to support networks.
Green Point has a dedicated, purpose built, OSHC space which includes services for Before School, After School and Vacation Care. Delivery and collection arrangements remain available from primary schools in the local area.
The service has a qualified chef to prepare nutritional meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Seasonal rotating are designed to take into account children’s likes and dislikes, special dietary requirements and the Australian Dietary and Infant Feeding Guidelines.
All Discovery Early Learning Centres work towards being Move Well Eat Well accredited services.

The service is also available for children from all local primary schools in area. If you require assistance with transport, please speak with the Director.

Discovery is committed to reconciliation and inclusion. Greenpoint will continue Gunn Street's work with Tagari Lia (Bridgewater) Child and Family Centre to support a community rich in culture, history and diversity. Our service regularly attends their Little Mob playgroup to experience cultural connections and help build our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and history. Creating a culturally safe environment supports children to develop a strong sense of self identity.
MOVEMENT TO MUSIC
Our service participates in the Bridgewater Library Rock & Rhyme sessions. These sessions help children develop fine motor skills through action songs and instrument playing, gross motor coordination through dance, and development of rhythm.
Our service visits the Hobart Gymnastics Academy every month, providing children with further opportunities for physical activity, building confidence and self-esteem, strength, flexibility and coordination.
We have developed a nationally recognised inclusion support program for children with additional needs. Our educators are trained in the delivery of specific programs assisting children with their development of social skills, resilience and a creating a sense of belonging in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The Discovery bus will enable regular opportunities to go on excursions and strengthen links with the local community. These excursions expose children to a range of different experiences and enable them to further connect with their community. Children will also have the opportunity to enjoy regular walking excursions to a variety of locations.
During Vacation Care, school age children will participate in a range of excursions within the local community and the greater Hobart area.
