Kim Jones
Kim has been involved in the early childhood sector for over thirty-five years. She has a Bachelor of Education and Care (Early Years) as well as Diplomas in Children’s Services and Leadership and Management. Kim has worked in a variety of roles across all service types; long day care, outside school hours care, family day care, as well as with compliance and policy development and most recently as Manager of a small Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Kim firmly believes that children have the right to feel safe, loved and able to express themselves freely as they learn to self-manage their emotions. She believes that children must be supported by educators who are dedicated and have a strong understanding of the value of play as well as, child development and working closely with families as the first teachers of their children. Kim has been a strong advocate for children’s rights throughout her career, as well and dedicating time to support educators undertaking formal qualifications in Certificate III and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
Kim is married with two grown boys, both of whom live and work in Hobart. She is the proud grandmother to four delightful children all under 4 years of age. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her grandchildren, to travel, read, go camping and kayaking in the lovely bays at Eagle Hawk Neck. Kim also enjoys completing daily tasks on their small hobby farm just out of Hobart; feeding sheep, collecting eggs, watering plants and just breathing the fresh Tasmanian air.
