Our Discovery Vision for Reconciliation

IMG 20231211 140545

Together waranta (we) are committed to respectfully acknowledging the truths and histories of the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Lands across Australia, in particular Lutruwita (Tasmania). Our ongoing journey of cultural awareness and responsiveness will continue to inspire acceptance, inclusion and a strong sense of belonging for all children, families and our community.

We take pride in our relationships with and connections to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, in particular the Palawa and Pakana peoples, and value their knowledges, stories, language and guidance.

Through nature-based play and learning experiences, we will continue to educate children to care for Country, and respect and protect the land for future generations.

waranta takara milaythina nara takara waranta putiya nayri, nara laymi krakapaka waranta tu manta waranta tu manta waranta tunapri nara.

We walk where they once walked and their absence saddens us, but they will never be dead for us as long as we remember them.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

waranta We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Land, the Palawa and Pakana peoples, and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, traditions and hopes for future generations.
We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are connected to the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and have continued to nurture the Land on which we learn, play and grow since creation.

milaythina nika waranta pakana. As long as we remember them.

We are immensely proud of the journey we have been on in regard to reconciliation, we also understand that there is very important work for us to continue to do.

The Discovery RAP has actions under three key areas: Relationships, Respect and Opportunities. We have 22 actions and goals in total under these key areas. These goals help us develop a framework of tangible deliverables we can achieve which we believe are important steps to take towards becoming a reconciled nation, one free of racism and discrimination.
