Embodying the Spirit of Excellence
Early Childhood Education & Awards
At Discovery, we are incredibly fortunate to have a diverse team of educators, leaders, and support staff who consistently go above and beyond in their service to our communities and the children in their care. These exceptional individuals often navigate a myriad of complexities and face numerous challenges that come with working in such a dynamic environment. Despite these hurdles, their unwavering dedication and passion never waver.
Their efforts sometimes go unnoticed amidst the daily hustle and bustle, which is why it is crucial for us to pause and recognise the profound impact they have. By celebrating these genuinely wonderful souls, we not only honour their contributions but also inspire others to embody the same spirit of excellence and compassion.
These amazing team members enrich our organisation in countless ways. Their presence makes us better, stronger, wiser, and kinder. They are the heart of our community, and it is through their tireless work that we continue to grow and thrive.
The recent HESTA 2024 Early Childhood Education & Care Awards gave us the opportunity to nationally recognise some our team members. Sharon for the award Outstanding Service - Recognising early childhood services that have implemented strategies to improve access and participation for children and families that may otherwise face barriers to accessing early childhood education and care.
Kellie for the award Advancing Pedagogy & Practice - Recognising early childhood professionals who have demonstrated practice improvement and advancement. And Mel for the award for Individual Leadership - Recognising an individual who has delivered high quality education to young children in Australia, making a valued contribution to their profession.

We are so proud to celebrate Mel's achievement for being nominated for this award at the recent ceremony in Brisbane during the Early Childhood Australia National Conference. For us she is a winner, she was a winner before the nomination, she was a winner being recognised in the tope 3 leaders across Australia and she remains a winner in the work she does each and every day.
Congratulations Mel!
