Every Family, Everywhere

This month, we proudly celebrate National Families Week (11–17 May), a time to recognise, honour and uplift the many ways families support, nurture and belong with one another.

The 2026 theme, “Every Family, Everywhere,” reminds us that there is no single way to be a family. Families can look different, live in different places, and grow in unique ways — and every family matters.

Research shows that when people reflect on what defines a family, love and connection matter most, more than structure, labels, or shared living arrangements. It also highlighted this week shows that when children and families are supported early, through connection, resources, and inclusive environments - outcomes are stronger for everyone.

The early years of a child’s life are incredibly important. They provide a strong foundation for children's learning and development, emotional wellbeing, and resilience and relationships.
