Discovery's Commitment to Training Excellence in 2024

As we entered this year, Discovery reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing support for individuals embarking on their journey within the sector. Our focus has been on ensuring that high-quality training and support opportunities are consistently available to our trainees. This commitment has been evident through the comprehensive support provided to those studying at Discovery. Throughout 2024, students at Discovery have benefited from continuous study support initiatives. These have included:

• In-Service Unit Unpacking: Breaking down complex units to ensure thorough understanding.
• On-the-Floor Role Modeling: Practical demonstrations of skills and techniques needed in real-world scenarios.
• Study Support Sessions: Sessions designed around our policies and procedures, as well as the essential skills required to deliver a high-quality curriculum and practice.

Southern Certificate III Trainee Cohort's Final Study Session

As the year comes to a close, the Southern Certificate III trainee cohort marked their final study session with a memorable visit to Bush Camp. This enriching experience focused on several key areas:

• Safety Protocols: Emphasizing the safety of both children and educators, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment.
• Diverse Experiences: Offering children a variety of engaging and educational experiences during their visit.
• Supervision Aspects: Highlighting the importance of vigilant and effective supervision.
• Nature Play: Encouraging interaction with nature, fostering creativity and exploration.

During the visit, the educators and children enjoyed a range of activities, from examining magnifying glasses and crafting with clay, to exploring the creek and constructing their own fishing rods.

This hands-on approach not only reinforced the trainees' learning but also provided a fantastic morning of discovery and enjoyment for everyone involved.
