Kookaburra Junction Outside School Hours Care operates from Stella Maris Catholic Primary School, in Burnie, offering Before School, After School and Vacation Care. The Outside School Hours Care program is an inviting and welcoming environment that is responsive to the interests and needs of school age children.

Meals

Our service provides breakfast for Before School Care, and afternoon tea for children attending After School Care. We are a lunch box service during Vacation Care, providing nutritional morning tea, afternoon tea and snacks throughout the day. Our menu is designed to take into account children’s likes, dislikes and special dietary requirements, using Move Well Eat Well recommendations.

    Mitch Walker

    Mitch has been with Discovery for over 6 years and has in that time cultivated strong connections with children and families, emphasizing enjoyment and mutual respect.

    Mitch believes in offering children engaging and stimulating activities that encourage autonomy and responsible risk-taking within a controlled setting. His appreciation for nature extends to outdoor exploration, providing opportunities for children to connect with the natural world and aim to take the children out on country regularly.

    Nicole Rapp

    Nicole has returned to Tasmania after working in Kalgoorlie, WA, for the last 9 years. Nicole has a strong passion for the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, and is excited to take on the role of the Burnie OSHC Coordinator with such a wonderful team - looking forward to the fun and exciting challenges ahead! Outside of work Nicole is settling back into life in Tasmania with her young daughter.
