We're All In
Reconciliation Week 2026
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.
All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.
The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.
Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.
At Discovery we honour, value, celebrate and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture everyday, and we take great pride in participating in and supporting our Aboriginal community and Elders during significant events like Reconciliation Week. Our work in Reconciliation is important to us, as we believe in a reconciled nation, one that is free of racism, injustice and discrimination.
Through these celebrations we lead by example, walking with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on our journey of cultural responsiveness, acceptance, inclusion and belonging for all children, families and communities.
We proudly support Reconciliation Tasmania, as sponsors of the Reconciliation Breakfasts across our beautiful state, and as guests - with team members attending each breakfast in Nipaluna/Hobart, Pataway/Burnie and Launceston on Kanamaluka / River Tamar.
As Reconciliation Tasmania states: "Our NRW Breakfasts create space to reflect on where reconciliation is heading in our state. They bring together individuals, organisations and communities to listen, learn and engage more deeply with the truths and aspirations of Tasmanian Aboriginal people.
The events provide an opportunity to hear directly from Tasmanian Aboriginal leaders and community members, who share their experiences, perspectives and hopes for what comes next for reconciliation in Lutruwita / Tasmania. These conversations can be challenging, thought-provoking and at times emotional, however they play an important role in building a deeper understanding of our shared history."
Our services run a variety of experiences for children to acknowledge the significance of Reconciliation Week and celebrate Aboriginal culture. Educators continually nurture a community where culture is honoured, belonging is felt, and reconciliation is lived every day.
Our educator and Reconciliation Champion, Cassie, from our Milpara service, guided the children in her through a meaningful, small, age-appropriate smoking ceremony. As Cassie says "It's so important that children experience culture in ways that feel safe, meaningful and connected. When they can see, smell and talk about it together, it becomes something they truly understand and carry with them."
Opportunities like this, led by an Aboriginal educator, create authentic pathways for learning, helping children build respect, understanding and appreciation for Aboriginal culture from an early age.
This is what will create a truly reconciled nation in the future.
